Information for readers.

First of all, you should know that this journal is not G rated. I don't wander into the TMI universe, but if strong language offends you, read no further.

If you're here because you're wondering who this strange person is reading your journal: If you don't know me, you probably write intelligently about politics, writing, martial arts, or some combination of the three. I may not agree with you, but I'll keep any disagreement to myself. I read smart people where I can find them.

Second, this journal is speaking only for me. I don't represent my employer here, and I never will. That's what they pay PR departments for. Part of that is that no matter how obvious it is, I won't discuss the details of my projects or who I work for in open posts.

I write computer games for a living; currently that's console games. I'll probably stay on consoles as long as it remains a viable industry; console games are fun. I've worked on most of the major consoles since the N64 days.

And back to a note on work related issues: it isn't that hard to figure out my real name, so it's going to be possible to determine what company I work for. I've given this some thought, and have two responses. Some information won't appear in the journal, because it's clearly covered by NDA or is company proprietary. Some things are going to be apparent, though. My final analysis is that anyone who thinks they're getting insider information based on the vague statements of a programmer is so fundamentally brain damaged that they shouldn't be trusted with lunch money, let alone investments.

For fun, I'm an unpublished writer of speculative fiction. I'm working on making this more than a hobby.

I have in the past participated in the SCA, primarily fighting and dance. If life permits I'll get back to that.
